Most of the time, this kind of issue is caused by the Android software and not the camera itself. The first troubleshoot you can do to prove this issue is by restarting the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. Just switch it off and let it sit for a couple of seconds. Then turn it back on and launch the camera app to see if the error message still exists. Since the characterized system files have been reloaded after a restart, the error should now be gone. If not, continue to the next solution. Once the system files are reloaded, the error will go away. If not, keep reading.

I took the phone in and as expected it had a defective camera module. The problem has now been resolved, and I recommend anyone experiencing similar issues should take it in asap. I had done this camera firmware update in froyo and notices some interesting things. 1. After rebooting my phone(samsung vibrant which is unrooted), the colors on the screen appears more vibrant than before.2. The phone feels even after faster than the improvements from the froyo update. Running linpack gave me MFLOPS readings in the 10s range from the 8s in the Eclair revision and now its in the 13s MFLOPS range.
